This half term the Junior 1 children have been working extremely hard in all of the lessons. On the Perfect Presentation display there are examples of some superb Maths, English, Science and topics work. 

Junior 1 RE Good News Learning Ladder, by Mrs Osborne

This half term the children have been thinking about what Good News is to them. They have shared two parables from the Bible, Jesus Feeds the 5,000 and The Last Supper, and thought about how they teach Christians to show Good News in the World in which they live. The learning ladder displays some of the amazing work that the children have undertaken to do with the Good News theme.

Junior 1 have created a wonderful display in our cloakroom. On the display the children created collage cars in which they wrote about all of the thing that they enjoy about learning. They also created pictures of themselves on which they wrote down all of the things that they want to achieve this school year.

Take a look at the Junior 1 classroom reading corner. We have lots of different books to look at including fiction and non-fiction books. We have books from school and from the Education library. We have story books, information books and books and a suitcase full of books about our topic. We have Bibles and the book that we are reading together as a class.

The Junior 1 Stone Age topic display is now completed. The children have really enjoyed learning about prehistoric history and answering the question ‘What did the Stone Age People Yabba Dabba Doo?’

RE Kingdom of God Learning ladders, by Mrs Osborne

Last term in RE our learning theme was entitled the 'Kingdom of God'. As part of their work each class created their own learning ladder showing what they knew about the Kingdom of God. On the ladders are the key learning questions for each lesson and there are fantastic examples of some of the work undertaken by the children. The learning ladders display the progress in the children's learning throughout the topic.Take a look at some of the fantastic work:

Take a look at our Maths and English Working Wall where we write down things that we have been learning to help us to remember what we have learnt. Our Working Walls also help us in lesson times, we use them if we are finding our work challenging or we want a challenge.

Also, have a look at how Big Question learning display is progressing, 'What do the Stone Age people Yabba Dabba Do? We have added some of our 'How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth' explanations, there are some of our cave paintings, our Stone Henge sihouettes and our Stone Age Boy stories with a twist. We have added ou Stone Age bowls and our Ug character descriptions. Our display looks excellent in our classroom!

We learnt all about how to navigate and use compass directions. We practised giving directions to London landmarks.

Our whole school focus for the beginning of the term was based around the book The Tunnel. We explored the characters in the story using adjectives and then  wrote our own story based on the book. We designed our own front covers for our stories to display in our classroom.

Little Miss and Mr People, by Miss Cragg

We read some of the Mr Men stories in class and decided to make our own character based on our personalities. We used paper and collage to make our people then wrote about ourselves. We had to think about adjectives to descibe ourselves and write them in sentences with the correct punctuation.
