Teaching Assistants

Mrs Linda Elliot

She started at St John's School in April 2008 as a teaching assistant and then trained as HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) and now delivers intervention programmes and does whole class cover. Mrs Elliott also co - ordinates the Eco work we do in school as well as running cookery clubs. She has helped out during Young Voices and performances. Mrs Elliot is a registered first aider.

Outside of school Mrs Elliot enjoys sport, cookery and gardening.


Mr Clive Norbury

Has been a member of the St John's family since 2000. Having previously worked at Sandbach Heath Playgroup. He began working at the school in 2004. His daughter also went to St John's. He has a NVQ level 3 in early years and education. He is the administrator for the school website. In school, he has taken part in residential weekends, Young Voices and choir/performance clubs. Mr Norbury is a registered first aider.

Outside of school, he enjoys sport, especially Newcastle United, music and computing.


Mrs Debbie Thackray

Has been a member of the St John's family since 2006. Her links with the school, go back to 1997, as both of her children went to St John's.

Outside of St John's, she enjoys travelling.


Mrs Emma Leigh

Started work at St John's as a teaching assistant in September 2012. Prior to this she worked as Communication Support Worker and Learning Support Assistant in higher education. She has a NVQ level 3 in British Sign Language, LOCN level 3 in Note taking for the deaf and disabled and NCFE level 3 teaching assistant.

Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.


Mr Shaun Ashley

He joined the school family in 2017. He was originally an electrician, but went back to college to retrain to become a TA. He passed his NVQ level 3 in supporting teaching and learning and now does a job he loves. 

Outside of school he spends time with his wife and 3 children and enjoys going to the cinema and comedy/music concerts.
