Mrs Suzanne Jenkins - Deputy Headteacher/ Junior 3

Suzanne qualified as a teacher after gaining a BA (Hons) in English and Drama with Qualified Teacher Status in Cardiff. She joined St John's in 2008 after having worked at both Primary schools in Elworth. As part of the senior leadership team, Mrs Jenkins is responsible for the development of the curriculum at St John's, and especially loves to teach art. She leads the core subject of Mathematics, as well as History, Geography and DT. Mrs Jenkins also has responsibility for the teaching assistants in school and oversees their appraisals. Mrs Jenkins has set up and run; Art club and a lunchtime maths club as well as the summer term performance club.

Outside of school she spends time with her daughter, Molly. Her hobby is mostly shopping!


Miss Steph Dean - Junior 1/SENDCO

She became a class teacher at St John's C of E Primary school in September 2011 after completing her first year of teaching. She completed a Batchelor of Education with Creative Arts at Chester University, graduating in September 2010. Her specialism of music, where she has completed two grade 8's, has given her opportunities to become the Principal clarinettist for the Cheshire Youth Orchestra of which she was a member for four years, and also participate in Young Musician for Cheshire Schools when she was 14 years old. In school, Miss Dean co-ordinates the Creative arts and shares her love of music with the children. She has taken the children to Young Voices for 6 years, which is a memorable experience for both the children and staff!

Outside of school, Miss Dean leads an adult choir and accompanies them for concerts, and also plays the clarinet, piano and saxophone for various performances. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends at weekends and going to concerts.


Mrs Laura Osborne - Year 2

She became a class teacher at St John’s CofE Primary School in September 2010 after graduating from her four year BA in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher status. She completed her fourth year teacher training placement in Year 6 at St John's School and therefore started working at the school as a Newly Qualified Teacher. At the end of the 2013/14 academic year she also achieved her Masters in Education at Manchester Metropolitan University. In school, she is a staff governor, the Science, Computing and Gifted and Talented coordinator and has developed the teaching and learning of E-Safety at school.

Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going on holiday, out for meals and going to the theatre.


Mrs Pauline Summerfield - Reception Class 

She joined St John's School in 1999, to work with the Reception and Year 1 children. She is keen to see all children leave the Reception class with high levels of independence and confidence. She has set up and run knitting, performance and recorder clubs.


Miss Rachel Durber - Junior 2

Miss Durber graduated from Leicester University with a BSc (Hons) in Biology and Psychology then qualified as a teacher after completing a P.G.C.E. She has taught in Bedfordshire, Clackmannanshire (Scotland) and in Stoke-on-Trent. She spent two years as a specialist art teacher in a primary school, sharing her passion for drawing and creating 3D pieces of artwork. During her teaching career she has developed many areas of the curriculum including mental maths programmes, reading skills and imaginative writing initiatives. Miss Durber will be English Co-ordinator, an area of the curriculum which she is very passionate about teaching and hopes to share her enthusiasm with the children.

Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys taking her little dog for walks and attending agility classes, however you are unlikely to see them at Crufts anytime soon!!


Miss Catherine Cragg - Year 1

Miss Cragg became a class teacher at St John's C of E Primary School in September 2014 after completing her PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University. Before her PGCE she worked as a Teaching Assistant and as an After School Club Manager whilst completing her BA in Primary Education. Miss Cragg is looking forward to being part of the performance club this year and having the opportunity to get to work with some of the KS2 children.  Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
