By Harry & Freddie

In Junior 2, we had to think about linking the school golden rules to the theme of 'play'. We thought carefully about the different Bible stories that we could use such as: Feed the 5000, The unmerciful servant, The paralysed man, Noah's Ark and the last supper.

We then used role play to act out different scenes and explained why they linked to the school rules.

J2 E-Safety - SPAM Stopper Song

Date: 27th Mar 2017 @ 6:17pm

Junk mailJunk mailThis half term, in E- Safety, J2 have been looking at 'What is Spam?'

We looked at Charlie's story and discussed what we would do.

One day Charlie gets an email from an address he doesn’t know. In the Subject box it says “You’ve won a prize!” The message reads, “Congratulations! You’ve won a big prize! To claim your prize, click here.” There is no name at the end of the message. Charlie clicks on the link and sees a webpage advertising a pimple cream. He tries to close the page, but other advertising pages pop up for tooth-whitening and foot-odor products. Every time Charlie closes a page, another ad pops up. He can’t seem to get off the site.

We decided to create a song to help others from doing this.

Please enjoy!

Christmas Stained Glass windows

Date: 16th Dec 2016 @ 12:28pm

Stained glass windows

Today Junior 2 have been looking at different things about Christmas. We have found out about stained glass windows and how they tell stories in Church.

The coloured glass is crafted into stained glass windows in which small pieces of glass are arranged to form patterns or pictures, held together (traditionally) by strips of lead and supported by a rigid frame. Painted details and yellow stain are often used to enhance the design.

Stained glass windows play games with the light in many modern churches. The tradition of making those windows goes back a long way. As early as the fourth century, colored glass was used to ornament church windows, though it was not until the 12th century that making stained glass became an art form like sculpture or painting. Yet stained glass was not just a decoration. It was a way of communicating scenes and episodes from the Bible to everybody including those unable to read

We created our own frames using black card then covered the background in tissue paper. We then decided on a feature of Christmas to make our silhouettes to shine in the light of the window.
